Met Éireann has issued snow and ice warnings for the entire country this week, with accumulations of up to 5cm forecast in places.

The yellow alert comes into effect from 10am on Tuesday 9 February for counties Cavan, Louth, Meath, Monaghan and Westmeath.

The warning will remain in place until 6pm on Wednesday 10 February.

Thursday

A band of sleet and snow will spread northeastwards during Thursday giving accumulations of up to 5cm in some areas, but transitioning to rain in the west and south by night.

Affected Regions will include Carlow, Clare, Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Offaly, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Westmeath, Wexford, and Wicklow.

The yellow alert will come into effect from 8am on Thursday 11 February and will remain in place for 24 hours.
