Shown in Table B are the prices paid to 1m-litre suppliers in May 2026, across three different milk qualities highlighted in Table 1 on the opposite page.

The average milk quality used in our calculations tracks the actual figures sent to us by processors each month, so has been revised downwards when compared to the April league. Butterfat is down 0.1 percentage points to 4.28% and protein down 0.02 percentage points at 3.38%.

For average quality milk, Tirlán/Fivemiletown is the only processor with a final price paid of over 35p/l, while for high quality milk, its final price is over 36p/l.

When compared to our 750,000l league, the main positional change sees Leprino move up from sixth to fourth across high and average solids milk, thanks to its 0.65p/l bonus paid to 1m litre suppliers. All three milk qualities also meet the minimum requirements for the company’s mozzarella bonus (4.08% butterfat; 3.26% protein).

Lakeland drops to the bottom of the 1m-litre leagues, with its volume bonus halved during April to June, to sit at 0.15p/l.

Rolling

In Table C are the average prices paid by each processor across the 12-month period from June 2025 to May 2026.

Those rolling averages continue to reduce by around 1p/l each month, with prices of around 43p/l from May 2025 dropping out of our analysis.

It means that Tirlán’s rolling average for high quality milk is the only price still above 40p/l.

There is one positional change when compared to our April league, with Lakeland dropping behind Lepino in the 12-month average price it has paid for low solids milk.
