At the Royal Ulster Winter Fair 2014, Balmoral, last December, the Monasterosis milking Shorthorn herd of Michael and Ann-Maree Manley made history. Monasteroris Jennie Deans 8th, a 10-year-old seventh-calf cow, won the senior cow class and went on to take the title of breed champion. She was also tapped out as the reserve interbreed champion. Monasteroris Jennie Deans 8th is a homebred animal sired by Bilbro Stephen. She produced around 1,700 gallons (8,000kg) of milk at 3.5% butterfat and 3.35% protein. She has been shown three times, each time being victorious. She was first shown in July 2012 at the Emerald Expo where she won breed champion.
