Payments worth more than £300m have begun to be received by eligible farmers and crofters across Scotland.

Earlier this week, the Scottish Government’s Rural Economy Secretary Fergus Ewing confirmed that farm payments are now underway.

Over the coming months, more than 18,000 farmers and crofters will receive the final balance of their Common Agricultural Policy pillar I entitlements for the 2017 scheme year (CAP payments).

Farmers and crofters have already received up to 90% of their payments last November through the Government’s loan scheme.
