The new course will see SRUC livestock scientists bring vets up to speed on the fast-evolving field of genomics.

A new course run by Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) will give farmers the opportunity to optimise their livestock breeding decisions.
The course – Vetnomics – is run in collaboration with Agrimetrics and is available online or through a two-day session and aims to provide knowledge for vets, farmers and industry retailers on genomics – the use of the building blocks of DNA.
By better understanding the use of genomics in practise, vets will then be able to discuss the data with farmers offering them a wider range of services for animal breeding.

The first residential will be held on 19 and 20 June. To find out more or to sign up, visit www.sruc.ac.uk/vetnomics.
