As the Lexion range has seen changes in recent times, so too has the smaller Avero series.

The Avero 160 and 240 are currently using Perkins engines, but will be fitted with Cummins power from now on, meeting the latest Stage V emission standards.

The Cummins B6.7 (6.7L) that will be fitted in the Avero 240 churns out 213hp (8hp more than its predecessor). Stage V standards are achieved using Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) and Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) . This method eliminates the need for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR).

In addition, the Avero 240 is equipped with the APS threshing system, which Claas are confident has the ability to separate 30% of grain in the preconcave. Claas say this leaves 20% greater output having the same fuel consumption.

Residual grain separation is performed by four straw walkers with four steps. Agitator tines benefit separation, even in large volumes of straw.

The Avero’s grain tank has a capacity of 5,600 litres, with the ability to unload in less than two minutes, the company says.
