Breeders must now apply for a show certificate of compliance before taking animals to shows.

It has the potential to cut down show paperwork for breeders as the certificate “may be used to move cattle to a number of shows during the validity period of up to 30 days.”

The Department of Agriculture has confirmed the show movement will not count as a movement in the context of QPS.

Farmers can apply for a certificate online through Agfood.ie or by forwarding an NBAS31K form to the Regional Veterinary Office.
