I see that Cargill has a study underway into the feasibility of using beef tallow to make biodiesel in Brazil.
Cargill, at present, does not use beef tallow as a feedstock for biodiesel in Brazil, but with US tariffs on the beef byproduct standing at 10% and potentially rising, efforts are underway to find new outlets.
While soya bean oil is the main biodiesel feedstock in the South American country, cooking oils and beef tallow are also used.
One of the three Brazilian biodiesel plants Cargill purchased in 2023 used tallow before so this is a feasibility study that could result in a swift result.
