Gurteen College is looking for someone to run the beef enterprise on the college farm in north Tipperary.
Perched on around 1,000ac, the beef enterprise consists of 70 suckler cows, plus replacements, 120 head of finishing cattle and 120 head of young stock. Reporting to the farm manager, the goal is to manage the beef herd in an efficient and profitable manner while demonstrating best practice. There will also be some duties on the college’s sheep farm.
The college also runs a dairy herd and has land in tillage. No doubt there’ll be good interest in the job.
