I understand the ICSA is facilitating a way for farmers to help with the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

At the Ploughing Championships, ICSA is set to team up with an aid agency already working to help people suffering from what the UN has described as a famine.

This comes following an initiative proposed to the ICSA’s national executive by Wexford farmer Frank Kehoe, the purpose of which is not political, but humanitarian. Meanwhile on Tuesday, Veterinary Ireland made a strong statement calling for full and unhindered access to humanitarian relief in Gaza, expressing despair at “the destruction of agricultural and veterinary systems in Gaza”.

It said the Gaza conflict had resulted in the near total collapse of all veterinary and agricultural systems, and caused a “One Health catastrophe” for both people and animals.
