The latest figures for Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and area-based scheme applications show 78,223 applications submitted as of Wednesday morning.
Applications are progressing well with approximately 7,000 more applications submitted compared to the corresponding period in 2025. This leaves about 50,000 applications to submit before the deadline of 15 May 2026.
Within this figure, 71,222 applications have been submitted by farm advisory system (FAS) advisers with 7,001 applications submitted by farmers. There have been 72,548 applications submitted to the Areas of Natural Constraint and 76,664 applications to the Eco Scheme.
