Australian sheep producers’ sentiment was 32 points higher in the May survey this year compared with May 2025 at +84 points.

South Korea – egg shortage

South Korea plans to import 210m eggs in July and August from the US and Thailand to cover a shortfall in domestic production caused by avian influenza.

Brazil – Amazon fires

Mapbiomas reports that 12.7m hectares were burned in Amazon fires in 2025, down from 30.2m hectares in 2024, which was the second-highest recorded since records began in 1985.
