Gardaí continue to investigate a series of thefts targeting Toyota Land Cruisers, particularly in Co Meath.

In the Navan area, a 2007-registered jeep taken from a field in Garlow Cross last Tuesday, while the owner was harvesting, was recovered on Friday a short distance away in Lismullen.

However, another Land Cruiser was reported stolen from Clashmore, Co Waterford, on Monday. Gardaí said that this second vehicle is still missing and an investigation is ongoing. The owner described it on social media as black with the back left wing and tail light missing.

Multiple thefts targeting Toyota Land Cruisers have been reported in Meath, Tipperary and Cork in recent weeks.

"We would encourage owners to take extra precautions around their vehicles and keys and to consider employing extra security devices such as steering locks," a garda spokesperson told the Irish Farmers Journal.
