'The Future of Farming is in the Soil' is the latest webinar to be run by the Agricultural Science Association and will take place this Wednesday 17 February at 7.30pm.

There will be three speakers on the night.

Fiona Brennan of Teagasc Johnstown Castle will describe what’s happening underneath the land's surface and how soil functions.

Gareth Culligan is a tillage farmer from Co Louth and is trying plenty of innovative techniques on his farm to improve soil health and reduce inputs.

From mixing varieties to planting cover crops, he is leading the charge when it comes to sustainable agriculture.

Robbie Byrne, a current Nuffield scholar looking at biological farming techniques and farmer and owner of Precision Nutrition, will round off proceedings taking a broad look at sustainability, climate change and Irish farming.
