The national meteorological service, Met Éireann has issued a status yellow snow and ice warning for the whole of Ireland. The warning is to last from 9pm on Thursday to 9am on Friday. Scattered snow showers are forecast for Thursday night and Friday morning, with accumulations of snow less than 3cm. Showers are set more to be more frequent in the west and north of the country.

There will also be fresh, cold winds tonight as well as a threat of thunder.
