Rain along the east and southeast coasts in the morning will quickly clear and Wednesday will be a cold day with sunshine and showers, Met Éireann has said.
The showers are forecast to be most frequent over the western half of the country at first, but will become widespread through the course of the afternoon.

Some of the showers will bring hail and thunder and Met Éireann has said that they could possibly turn wintry on hills.
Highest temperatures on Wednesday will vary between 5°C and 7°C in mostly moderate to fresh west to northwest winds.
