While the overall cost of rural theft has been declining in Scotland in recent years, Police in East Lothian are currently calling for witnesses after approximately £6,000 worth of tools were stolen from a farm in Gifford at the start of the week.
Overnight between Sunday 1 July and Monday 2 July a shed was broken into on Nunraw Farm, Gifford, East Lothian and the tools inside were stolen.
With inquiries currently ongoing, Inspector Andrew Harborow said: “The theft of these tools will undoubtedly impact on the ability of farm staff to do their job, as well as having an obvious financial impact.”
