At around 4.30am on Good Friday (19 April), two ATMs were pulled from the main walls of the Bank of Ireland and AIB on Main Street, Kells, Co Meath.

Gardaí were alerted to the incident and a Garda spokesperson said that the ATMs were driven away on the back of a dark-coloured crew cab jeep.

“The jeep left in the direction of the Maudlin Road, towards Carlanstown,” gardaí said.

Pictures shared on social media of the scene of the crime this morning show a tractor and low loader parked blocking the road, with the digger in the background.

The gardaí are now appealing for any information in relation to the theft and anyone who can assist with this investigation to contact Kells Garda Station on 046-92 80820, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
