Dairylink Ireland participant Richard Marshall has been using a purpose-built shed for calf rearing in his autumn-calving herd the past two seasons.
It includes automatic calf feeders, a ventilation tube and wind-break roller blinds.
Richard milks 140 Holstein cows near Omagh, Co Tyrone and has a key focus on producing milk from high quality silage and grazed grass.
Also speaking on the webinar is local vet Maria Morris from Strule Veterinary Services. She discusses effective measures to prevent, as well as treat, common health issues in young calves.
Programme adviser Aidan Cushnahan talks about monitoring calf performance and hitting liveweight gain targets.
