NI Sheep Programme farmer Trevor Nixon made the most of the dry weather and was busy making hay on his farm last week, as programme adviser Senan White outlines.
Shearing has taken place on a few programme farms, bringing relief to sheep in the current conditions.
Unfortunately the outlook for wool prices is not bringing much comfort to the farmers. The group had their first virtual discussion group meeting last week which gave the participating farmers an opportunity to interact and discuss the varying issues on farm.

The recent spell of warm weather has afforded Trevor the opportunity to get a lot of field work completed.
Calling on neighbours for help has not been possible because of the lockdown, and this has seen the workload increase.
However, there have been plenty of opportunities to 'make hay while the sun shines' and Trevor has been busy round baling hay. He has also started to measure grass, with the help of his daughter Aimee.
