Met Éireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for Kilkenny, Wexford, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford. The warning is valid from 8pm on Wednesday.

Heavy thundery rain is forecast for late this evening and overnight, with accumulations of 20-30mm. There will be torrential downpours in places which may lead to spot flooding.

The warning will remain in place until 9am on Thursday.
