Western and midland groups unite for new sale in Carrick
The North West Mule Breeders Group, the Western Hill Cheviot Lamb Group and members of Teagasc KT groups have joined forces to form the West Prolific Ewe Lamb Group.
Breeds on offer include Mule ewe lambs, Suffolk-cross, Lleyn-cross, Belclare-cross and Cheviot-cross lambs.

Members of the former North West Mule Breeders Group from Coolaney in Sligo have joined forces with breeders from the Western Hill Cheviot Lamb Group and other farmers participating in Teagasc knowledge transfer (KT) groups to form the West Prolific Ewe Lamb Group.
Inaugural sale
Their inaugural sale will take place on Saturday 31 August at 2pm at the showgrounds in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Group member Seamus Connolly said all ewe lambs on offer have been selected on their maternal traits, with the sale offering prospective buyers the chance to select from a number of breeds in one location.
Breeds on offer include Mule ewe lambs, Suffolk-cross, Lleyn-cross, Belclare-cross and Cheviot-cross lambs.
