Up to €38m in Beef Data and Genomic Programme (BDGP) payments are to be rolled out, according to Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed.

"These payments, worth €38m, have commenced issuing to 21,000 farmers who have verified their compliance with the 2018 requirements," he said.

Fourth year

This is the fourth year of the plan and the Minister added that payments under BDGP II were due to commence in the coming days.

Minister Creed also encouraged all farmers with any outstanding information to submit it to the Department for verification in order to receive payment.

Under BDGP, carbon navigators and genomic samples must be submitted.

Also, up to 800 farmers have yet to submit a nutrient management plan as part of their GLAS, according to the latest figures from the Department.
