The Irish Limousin Cattle Society have deferred their sale in Athenry which was set to take place on Thursday 15 April 2021 at 1pm. The announcement was made on their Facebook page less then 24 hours ahead of the scheduled event.

The sale will now take place on Friday 16 April with the same COVID-19 protocols and timings in place.

Speaking about the sale Irish Limousin Cattle Society president Trevor Masterson said: “The sale is postponed 24 hours due to circumstances outside the mart and outside the society’s control. Everything will be exactly the same except now taking place on Friday instead of Thursday”

It’s understood that the district veterinary office (DVO) stopped the sale from taking place as the mart was also hosting a calf sale on the same day.
