The Kildare and West-Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (KWWSPCA) is holding their Easter Egg Hunt and Dog Walk event on Good Friday, 7 April.

The event is taking place at Punchestown Racecourse, Co Kildare and will begin at 2pm for children and the dog walk will start at 3pm. People attending are welcome to bring their dogs along, and rescue dogs at the KWWSPCA shelter will also be there on the day.

The KWWSPCA mascot is Patrick (pictured), a greyhound who arrived at the shelter four years ago with an injured leg, which had to be amputated. Patrick will be leading the walk.

Registration is not required and admission is free, but donations towards the care of the animals are welcome. Chairperson of the KWWSPCA, John Kane, says that the event is important for raising awareness of the charity.

The meeting point is in the carpark on the left, just inside the main gate of Punchestown Racecourse. For details see the http://kwwspca.ie or email kwwspca@gmail.com.
