Borrowed scales
This applies to farmers using their own scales or borrowing a scales of another farmer.
It is also useful to note that where a scales is being borrowed, the owner of the scales will receive a text message stating that their scales is being used to record weights.
This process is aimed at preventing any abuse of the allowance to lend scales out to other farmers.
Scales rented through the co-op network will be linked to the herd automatically.
Dairy-beef scheme
The ICBF advises that a dedicated portal for recording weights of calves in the dairy-beef scheme is currently under development and will not be available in the short term.
However, if a farmer wants to records weights, they can do so through the ordinary weight recording screen, which can be accessed under the 'Record events' heading.
