The Department of Agriculture has urged potato growers to land all seed potato imports from the UK before 29 March.
In a trader notice issued to growers this week, the Department warned that if a no-deal Brexit happens, the import of UK seed will no longer be possible beyond 29 March. This includes seed from Northern Ireland.
It was one of four scenarios outlined by Department of Agriculture officials examining the legal position of certified seed potato imports from the UK after Brexit.

Despite this warning, however, 2019 potato imports are just 20% of 2018 levels so far, at 930t.
