Cattle, which the Irish Farmers Journal understands were being transported in a trailer, have been killed during in a multi-vehicle crash on the M3 motorway in Co Meath on Wednesday morning.
“Gardaí and emergency services are attending the scene of a three-vehicle road traffic collision on the M3 northbound,” a spokesperson for An Garda Síochana has told the Irish Farmers Journal.
The road is currently closed to traffic between junction 5, Dunboyne, and junction 6, Dunshaughlin. Delays are expected.

No injuries have been reported and garda investigations are ongoing.
