The new Claas UK headquarters located in Saxham near Bury St Edmunds has officially been opened by Cathrina Claas-Mühlhäuser, chairwoman of supervisory board.

Serving as both headquarters for Claas UK and East Anglia dealer Manns of Saxham, the redeveloped headquarters incorporates a full-height glass-fronted Technoparc showroom. To complete the Customer Experience Centre, a field training and demonstration area has also been developed. The Saxham site is also home to the Claas Academy, which provides training for dealer sales, service and parts staff, in addition to customer operating training.

The new 33,000m2 headquarters is home to both Claas UK and East Anglia dealer Manns of Saxham.

To the rear of the headquarters is a new 10-bay workshop for Manns alongside a 4,336m2 parts warehouse for Claas UK to support its UK and Irish dealers. The new central UK warehouse has streamlined parts handling, replacing five individual buildings. Over 850,000 individual items can be accommodated totalling 700t, with space for future expansion. All parts are identified and located using a barcode system, helping to improve accuracy and efficiency of the some 1,000t of parts that pass through the warehouse annually.

Minimising its environmental impact, the new state-of-the-art building has a passive solar design and renewably generated electric power and heating sourced from a nearby AD plant. The electric car charging points are powered by an array of roof-mounted solar panels. There is an underground tank with capacity for 30,000l of rain water for the wash down of machinery.
