Photographs by Irish model tractor collector receive 800,000 hits online a month

A beet harvester has been "weathered" by adding soil, mud and wear and tear. A door-mat is used to resemble concrete (you can see on far right for illustrative purposes, but this is usually cropped out in the final photograph.)

A Schuco John Deere 4955 is weathered with soil and mud.

The farm sheds have been given a rusted, damaged effect to look more realistic, as has the farm yard, with dust and oil stains. The Deutz combine is another of Harry's conversions. See also the potato harvester and Deutz tractor.

The combine is one of his conversions, which took many hours. He bought it as a child's toy, sprayed it the correct "Clayson Yellow', then added the correct tyres,cab details, beacons and weathering, focusing especially on a matt finish as a combine of this vintage would have faded paintwork.The Ford County is from Universal Hobbies and the trailer was supplied by Martin's Agri Trailers.

Fendt is by Weise Toys, while the Ford is by Marge Models. Both tractors being over 10 years old are enhanced by spraying them with matt varnish,after carefully masking off the glass.

This Britain's John Deere Hillmaster started life as a toy. After Harry's work, it is now worth 10 times what he paid for it.

The New Holland in the foreground is a conversion by Harry Bell, as is the TX66. Both took many hours to achieve this level of finish.

In this shot, Harry has sprayed a door mat green and yellow to replicate cut grass. The Massey is a Universal Hobbies tractor, while the red silage trailer is from Martin’s Agri Trailers.
