The 610 farmers who were orginally delayed in TAMS could have to wait until the end of the next tranche for approval. \ Philip Doyle

Some farmers who submitted TAMS applications in early 2019 could have to wait until November before receiving approval for their planned investment.
It comes after the two latest tranches of TAMS have been oversubscribed. This has resulted in the bottom 20% of applications being rolled over into the next tranche.
Those farmers rolled over in April will not be prioritised and could face a six-month delay after the Department said they were included in the latest ranking and selection process.

When the budget is oversubscribed, the lowest-ranked applications based on criteria such as age and ANC eligibility are rolled over.
Some 610 farmers were moved from tranche 13, which closed in April 2019, to tranche 14, which closed in July 2019.
Some 675 farmers in tranche 14 will now be rolled into tranche 15, which closes on 4 October 2019.
Farmers will be told shortly whether their application has been approved or rolled over.
To date, 10,200 farmers have received payments totalling €150m under TAMS. Some 12,000 approved claims are still outstanding with no payment claims submitted.
