Russian spring wheat plantings are the lowest since the 1990s

The 2018 grain harvest in the US is well under way, with over 40% of winter wheat harvested by the end of last week. Over one third (34%) of the winter wheat crop in the US is estimated by the US Department of Agriculture to be in a poor or very poor condition.
Beef exports from Paraguay to the world market stood at 23,034t for May, which is 2% down on the same month last year. For the first five months of 2018 (Jan-May), Paraguayan beef exports reached just over 105,500t, down 3% year on year.
Butter prices reported to the Dutch Dairy Board have softened somewhat over the last fortnight, despite a shortage of supply. Spot butter prices are currently trading at €5,860/t, which is down almost €300/t since the start of June.

2018 spring wheat plantings in Russia totalled some 12.3m hectares, which is the lowest spring wheat acreage in Russia since the 1990s. The prolonged winter conditions this year meant many farmers were too late to plant spring wheat.
