Argentina – beef exports rise in September

Argentinian beef exports for September stood at 58,400t, which is up 5% on the same month last year. This brings Argentinian beef exports for the first nine months of 2020 to a cumulative 440,000t, which us up 15% year on year. China now accounts for 70% of Argentinian beef exports.

China – pork imports explode in September

Pork imports in China for September went through the roof. New figures show Chinese pork imports in September stood at 380,000t, which is up 122% on last year. This brings Chinese pork imports for the first nine months of 2020 to a cumulative 3.3m tonnes.

UK – milk production returns to growth

UK milk production in September stood at just under 1.2bn litres, which was up 0.7% on the same month last year. This is the first growth in milk supply since February and brings UK milk production for the first nine months of 2020 to a cumulative 11.3bn litres, which is down 1% on last year.

US – 2020 harvest nears endgame

The 2020 harvest in the US is entering its final stages. Harvest progress this year is reported to be excellent thanks to dry weather conditions. As of this week, 85% of the US soya bean crop has been harvested, while the maize (corn) harvest is nearing 75% completion.
