  • A group of 11 MEPs from the European Parliament’s agriculture committee, as they visited Tullamore Farm on Wednesday after the Ploughing was called off.
  • Malting barley growers, as they are to receive a€30/t price topup on 2018 prices, as well as a €10/t distilling premium.

  • The National Ploughing Association (NPA), after it had to cancel the Wednesday of the Ploughing, but it took place again on Friday.

  • Shipments of cattle to Turkey, as exports to there have all but dried up compared with last year.
  • Farmers across Ireland, as Storm Ali downed trees and caused power outages.
  • The Government, after an Irish Farmers Journal Red C poll found that 60% of farmers said the economic recovery has not benefited them.
