Carnew Livestock Mart in Co Wicklow and Awareness Head to Toe, the farm safety and mental wellbeing group, are holding an information evening in the mart premises on Tuesday 11 September.
The Department of Agriculture-approved Knowledge Transfer (KT) event takes place from 7pm to 9pm and is supported by Teagasc, the Irish Farmers Journal, the IFA and Macra na Feirme.
The evening will include a mixture of informative presentations and practical demonstrations. There will be an update on beef and sheep market prospects delivered by the Irish Farmers Journal, while Teagasc’s Bob Sheriff will cover winter fodder planning.

Jim Dockery of FRS Training, Peter Gohery of Embrace Farm and George Graham of Awareness Head to Toe will all cover farm safety and mental wellbeing, while there will be informative demonstrations on site on first respondents practical training, health and safety equipment by Gardiner Grain, practical livestock handling and machinery use observations and guidelines, while there will also be health checks by McCauley’s Pharmacy.
