Good morning. In the news today: the authorisation period for glyphosate has not been extended, the government considers the development of offshore wind and wave energy and record numbers at Bloom.

It will be warm and humid today, according to Met Éireann. There will be some rain or showers this morning especially in parts of the east and north, but drier and brighter periods as well. Sunshine will develop during the day but heavy thundery showers are likely, mainly in Ulster and parts of north Leinster. Highest temperatures of 18°C to 23°C.
Showers will clear this evening and it will be very mild, humid and mostly dry overnight. Lowest temperatures of 11°C to 15°C.

There was not enough support among EU member states yesterday to extend the authorisation period for glyphosate for 18 months beyond its current authorisation period.
Meanwhile UK farming organisations have published an open letter on the importance of the herbicide ingredient's reauthorisation.
Minister for Climate Action and Environment, Denis Naughten, has signed an energy cooperation declaration focusing on the development of cost effective offshore wind and wave energy.
The bank holiday sale at Bandon mart saw bullock numbers rise in comparison to last week with 232 bullocks on offer.
