Kepak is inviting farmers to a farm walk on Wednesday 13 August, on the farm of Brian and Noelle O’Keefe, Glanworth, Co Cork. They run a mixed dairy beef and tillage farm.

The event will focus on informing farmers of the practical steps to improve farm efficiency, meet evolving customer demands, and build resilient beef businesses.

There is a range of speakers lined up from across the industry including:

  • Market trends and customer demands – Chris Watson, Kepak commercial sales director, and Joe Burke, senior manager for meat and livestock, Bord Bia.
  • Genetics and cattle selection – Chris Daly, ICBF; Craig Buttimer and Edward Quinn, Kepak procurement team.
  • Animal health and vaccination protocols – Pat Noonan, Millvalley Veterinary Clinic; Emma Sargent, ruminant area veterinary manager. MSD.
  • Sustainability supports and funding – Luke McDermott and Seamus Shealy, Kepak sustainability team.

    Host farmer Brian O’Keeffe added: “We’ll be showcasing what we’ve done to promote on farm efficiency, as well as the steps we have taken to ensure we can continually breed profitable and productive animals that make sense for our farm operation".
