Kverneland has expanded its triple mower offering to three units, with the introduction of the new heavy-duty 5387 MT. This combination unit has an 8.75m cutting width. It comes with the QuattroLink race car suspension concept.
The new 5387 MT is based on the 5300 combination mower series. This means it includes a number of established features. The combination unit consists of two 3.2m mowers. Each of the two cutterbeds have eight discs. The machine is available with simple mechanical controls as standard, or with the optional ComfortControl joystick with electro hydraulic folding and unfolding.
Suspension
The mowers are equipped with Kverneland’s QuattroLink suspension. Also known as race car suspension, this four-arm concept adapts really well to the contours of the ground. The mowers have a vertical working range of 400mm upwards and 300mm downwards and a transverse adaptation range of 30°.
The unit has a 100% NonStop BreakAway system that offers protection across the full working width of the mower, including the part closest to the tractor. If the mower comes into contact with an obstacle, it will immediately move backwards and up, before returning to the original cutting position.
Conditioner
The conditioner plate can be adjusted at both the front and rear end, depending on the conditioning intensity required by the user. If mowing a heavy swath of grass, the unit can be opened up completely at the front and rear end to allow the increased throughput.
The rotor is equipped with SemiSwing steel tines. The spreading vanes and swath plates come as standard. If not being used, the spreading vanes and swath plates can stay on the machine.
For transport, the unit folds up above 90° for stable weight distribution. The outer FlexProtect guards fold hydraulically into transport position (optional).
