The deadline for applications to the Beef Finisher Payment (BFP) is Wednesday 9 September.
Farmers must submit an application on agfood.ie before Thursday if they are to be eligible for payment under the scheme.
As of Tuesday evening, 25,715 out of an estimated 42,000 eligible farmers had submitted an application.
Payment
The scheme is be open to all beef farmers who presented animals for slaughter in the period 1 February 2020 to 12 June 2020 inclusive.
They must also be a member of Bord Bia’s quality assurance scheme or undertake to become a member by 30 September 2020.
Each animal slaughtered within the reference period is eligible for a payment of €100 up to a maximum of 100 animals.
The Department intends to issue the payments in November 2020.
