Tractor therapy - part 4: communication in the cab
With the silage season well and truly in full swing across the country, you might be wondering if you will be able to go the distance. Follow our weekend series to survive the summer in the cab.
Staying in touch with work colleagues on the crew and with family and friends is vitally important.
A lot of silage outfits will use two way radios or cb radios in order to keep in touch with each other to keep things moving efficiently and safely. Everyone nowadays has a mobile phone of some description but as with cars the same rules apply when driving tractors on the public roads.
You cannot use your mobile phone on the public road. A top tip would be to invest in a Bluetooth earpiece or hands free which will allow you to keep in contact safely during the working day. The popularity of social media has seen a increase in videos and photos been taken and shared online but please remember only do so safely and not when operating machinery.
