Posters erected by IFA Ulster/north Leinster chair Nigel Renaghan and Monaghan chairman Frank Brady.

While out walking the drumlin hills of Monaghan, I spotted a new poster campaign bringing local food production into the spotlight.
“The purpose of our campaign is to spread the facts around agriculture in the region and inform consumers of our thriving sector,” Monaghan IFA county chair Frank Brady told me.
“We have 15 posters dotted around the county in total from Clones to Emyvale and Clontibret to Carrickmacross.”

The posters highlight the agricultural output of the county with 30,000 cattle; 35,000 dairy cows; 23,000 ewes; 3,000 sows and over 4m poultry animals.
Similarly, Longford IFA has a “love local” poster campaign under way promoting the county’s food production.
