Investigations are ongoing into the theft of 210 cattle and a similar number of tags, which were stolen from a farm in south County Meath in October and November 2018.

No arrests have been made to date in the case, which came to light late last year when the farmer reported to the Gardaí that a large number of cattle tags had been stolen from his jeep.

The farmer said he was doing his annual TB test when he noticed that 210 cattle had been stolen from his herd.

Gardaí are investigating both the theft of the cattle and the cattle tags.

Some 140 cattle were reported stolen in Ireland last year, separate to this case in Meath.
