I co-ordinate placements in Ireland for the Ghent Lambing and Husbandry Project (GLHP), a non-profit run by veterinary students from Ghent University, Belgium.
We place over 250 students each year with farms across Europe during lambing season, combining hands-on experience for students with extra help for farmers during their busiest period.
We are currently looking for additional Irish sheep farmers who might be interested in hosting one to four veterinary students for one or two weeks during lambing. The students are not looking for a traditional internship, but rather the opportunity to help out on the farm during this particularly busy period while gaining practical experience with sheep and lambing.
We have already been working with several Irish farmers, but we would like to expand our network for the coming lambing season.
