A bulk order of green diesel, also known as marked gas oil (MGO), has been priced at anywhere from €1.39c/l to €1.53c/l, this week.
Prices in Munster ranged from €1.39c/l to €1.53c/l, including VAT, while in Connacht, they ranged from €1.40c/l to €1.46c/l.
In Leinster, prices varied from €1.39c/l to €1.42c/l including VAT.
The cost of green diesel surged since the beginning of the war in the Middle East, with prices increasing by over 67% since the conflict started.
Fuel package
The Government announced a fuel package on 25 March which reduced green diesel prices by 5c/l, which was made up of a 3c/l reduction in excise duty and a 2c/l drop in the National Oil Reserves Agency (NORA) levy.
Following pressure from farmers, contractors and hauliers for a further reduction of fuel prices, the Government announced a further cut of 2.4c/l on green diesel as well as a €100m fuel support scheme for farmers and contractors and a delay to the increase in carbon tax.
More details on that scheme will be released on Wednesday.
