UK – cost of pork production
AHDB estimate the full cost of pork production in the UK during Q1 2026 was £1.92/kg (€2.20/kg) deadweight, a 2p/kg higher than Q4 2025.
USA – wheat crop forecast
USDA have cut the US wheat crop outlook to 42.5m tonnes, a reduction of 21% year on year and the lowest since 1972.
New Zealand – wool price
Farmers Weekly report that New Zealand wool prices continued an upward trend last week, with all wool types crossing NZ$6.00/kg (€3.00/kg)
Mexico – cheese imports
USDA forecast that cheese imports will increase by 3% this year to 240,000 tonnes, having increased by 5% in 2025 to 232,000 tonnes.
