Clare Marts has called off the Scariff cattle sale that was due to take place on Saturday due to the most recent storm Jorge weather warnings issued by Met Éireann.
Speaking to the Irish Farmers Journal on Friday, Clare Marts general manager Martin McNamara said: “We have been watching the weather forecasts closely and Clare seems to be one the counties that will be hardest hit.
“In the interests of the health and safety of our sellers and buyers we have taken the decision to call of tomorrow’s sale in Scarrif and run it next Monday at 11am.”
