Met Éireann has issued a horrid Halloween weekend weather warning. A number of counties are in for a fright, with heavy rain and squally showers forecast.

Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Leitrim, Limerick, Mayo, Monaghan, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, and Waterford will all be affected from 9pm on Friday 30 October.

The weather warning is set to haunt the entire weekend, with a warning of “vigorous Atlantic weather systems” passing close to Irish shores.

There is a possibility of very high seas and coastal flooding, and the weather will be stormy at times with severe and potentially damaging gusts of wind.
