This past few weeks have seen a huge increased risk in roundworm burdens on some farms.

The dry/hot summer definitely seems to have seen a lower risk for worm burdens.

However, now the conditions – mild and wet weather which a lot of our parasites love – are very favourable for mass hatching and much more significant levels of larvae on pasture.

What can you do?

Be vigilant for symptoms on your farm. Discuss worming protocols with your own vet, as every farm will be different. Where you suspect symptoms, act fast.
