Irish dairy farming plays a huge role in the Irish economy, with dairy products exported to 120 countries across the globe.

According to the National Dairy Council, every euro of dairy product accounts for a 90 cent spend in the Irish economy.

Monday 1 June is World Milk Day and to celebrate, we have selected five of the best Instagram accounts that showcase Irish dairy farming.

Yes I LOVE my job. How many people do we hear say that? Probably not as many as we’d like. They might like their job, or enjoy certain aspects of it. But how many can say they truly love what they do. What. A. Privilege. Sometimes we don’t realise how fortunate we are in this farming life. We get to get up every morning and look at the sun shining or the rain falling. Both essential for what we do. We get to spend our days caring for these animals. And those animals then help to feed & nourish people. We share the ups and downs of every day with our spouse, our parents, our siblings, our families or our business partner. Yes some days are tough, and long, and exhausting. But they pale in comparison to the bigger picture. Look around us. We have got it. That thing that people search for, that go through multiple career changes to find. We have got it. Pure bliss. That’s what farming is. It’s pure bliss.
