Glanbia has announced that it will be granting a €50/t discount on all ruminant feed bought by Glanbia co-op members during the month of April.
The co-op is also importing 1,000t of Alfafa from Spain which is expected to arrive in Dublin this weekend for distribution next week.
“The Glanbia Board is very conscious that the prolonged winter and tough spring is having a significant impact on farmers and their animals,” Glanbia chair, Henry Corbally said.

“We are putting in place these additional supports for member customers and will continue to monitor the situation over the coming weeks.”
Last week, the co-op held a number of nutrition clinics to help support farmers stretch their fodder supplies and they stated that they’ll continue to engage with farmers as needed.
